Narrative

I have been learning to write a narrative. A narrative is a fiction story. something I found challenging was trying to think of a problem. My next step is to actually finish my narrative.

I have been learning to find and summarise the information by choosing the most important information in a text. we had to research and summarise information about a specific type of dog. I found this tricky because there was so much to search. My next step is to write more stuff about poodles.

My Reflection
I have been learning to write about a moment in time. I fund this trackie because I didn't know what the power of three was. something I could do to improve my writing is to write more interesting things. My next step is to write more interesting words.

Summarising Information

Reflection
I am learning to summaries information. I was able to do the Title Characters Settings and the Solution. I found this had because there was too much to write for the Beginning Middle and End. My next step is to keep on practicing my Summarising.

My Reflection
I have been learning about Maori legends. I was able to pick some nice words about Tangaroa. I found this challenging because the cutting out was hard and the drawing was had too. My next step is to write more interesting words about Tangaroa.

My Speech 2019

Reflection

We are learning to write the body of our speech.

I found my reasons challenging because Bella helped me with my introduction and what I should write about.  I learned that parents and kids hate homework not just kids. I found it nervewracking to present my speech to the class but I felt proud of myself after I did it. My next step is to use stronger reasons.

 I am learning to Use the <, > and = maths signs.
 I was able to use the <, > and = in my work.
I found this easy because we hade work on it already
My next step is to do it faster in my work.

We have been learning about Matariki. I was surprised that there were lots of things about Matariki. I still wonder if there are more things about Matariki.

Information report

I have been learning to write an Information report. Information needs to have a beginning, middle and conclusion. It includes facts, and be written in the present tense. I found this trick because it takes me a long time to find things about hasting. My next step is to write a better conclusion.

Reading using Expression

My Reflection

I have been learning to use expression when i read out loud we read a play called Robin hood I can do better at using expression I found this challenging because I do not like to talk lowed. My next step is to make my reading sound interesting.

Reading a scale

I was learning about reading a scale of a ruler. I was able to identify the mm and the cm on the ruler. I found it tricky because it toke me a while to write it in because i had it but then I for got it and had to figure it out again.

Reflection
I have been learning to use a variety of sentences in my stories to make them more interesting for my readers.  My favourite sentence type was eat her because it was easy. My next step is to use a variety of interesting sentence in my writing.

Anzac challenge

We have been learning about Anzac Day.  I found this interesting because there were a lot of things I didn't know like they used tanks, I thought they just used guns. 

Taking Note - Famous People

I have been learning to find and summarising in information by choosing the most important information. Summarising is. I found this interesting because somethings were interesting when I looked things up about her. I found summarising the information tricky because most of the  information I need help looking them up.

Statistical Investigation

I have been learning to use the statistical enquiry cycle to carry out on investigation. My investigation was I was surprised that puppys where the most.I now know how to do a bar graph on a computer.My next step is to do a bigger investigation with more people.

Welcome to my year 5 learning blog.  This year i am in room 24 and my teacher are Mrs Melville and Mrs Rayner.  I enjoy writing. A goal I have this year is to get up to 70 ticks. I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
